A former Au-Ag-Pb-Cu-Zn-W-Mo mine located in sec. 11, T10N, R18E, MDM, 1.2 km (3,900 feet) ESE of Stevens Peak (coordinates of record), 2.1 km (6,800 feet) NE of Red Lake Peak, and ½ mile NE of Crater Lake (The mine entrance is 2,400 feet S and 2,100 feet E of the NW corner of sec. 11), on National Forest land. Produced in the 1930's and 1950's. Owned by the Alhambra Mining Corp., Gardnerville, Nevada (1977). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

First worked for Au in the early 1930's and then for W in the early 1950's.

Mineralization is hosted in mica schist and granodiorite. An associated rock is quartzite. This mine is located in a contact zone between metamorphosed sediments and granitic rocks. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

This and the adjoining Alpine Mine are on a contact zone between metamorphosed sediments on the W and granitic rocks on the E. The metamorphic rocks are mainly mica schist and quartzite. The granitic rocks are mainly coarse-grained granodiorite. Mineralization zone contains abundant sulfides and small bodies of fine-grained tactite with disseminated scheelite. The schists have been invaded by basic dikes. Surface rock of Red Lake Peak is stained by iron oxide. The general strike of the schistosity is N.

Workings include underground openings with an overall length of 60.96 meters.
There are 2 open SW adits 100 feet long and 100 feet apart vertically.
