A Mn occurrence located in sec. 34 or 35 (location approximate), T20N, R7E, MDM, 1.9 km (6,300 feet) NNW of Clipper Mills. Operated by James T. Binet, Clipper Mills, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).
Mineralization is a Mn deposit. Thin layers up to 3 inches thick and irregular masses of manganese oxides (chiefly psilomelane) are exposed in an outcrop of meta-chert. The meta-chert is recrystallized to fine-grained quartzite and cut by quartz veinlets. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
No production.
Analytical data results: Average grade is 10% Mn.
