A former lode Au-Cu-Pb mine located in sec. 14, T7N, R10E, MDM, about 2.3 km N of Drytown, E of highway 49 and NW of Dry Creek (1 mile S of Plymouth; adjoins the New London Mine), on private land. The claim is 20 acres. Owned by Glen and Everett Fancher (1954). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in slate. There are 2 veins. One massive quartz on the hanging wall to the E. The other is richer ore, lies to the W, and is banded. Both veins lie in black, tuffaceous slate. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 60 degree inclined shaft at 550 feet deep with 5 levels at 100 foot intervals.
Production was over $40,000 in Au & Ag (period values) between 1895 and 1949. Minor Pb & Cu were recovered from concentrates smelted.
