A former lode Au-Ag-Pb mine located in sec. 19, T7N, R11E, MDM, 0.1 km (0.1 mile) W of Quartz Mountain (coordinates of record) (on the upper W slope of the mountain) (about 2½ miles NE of Amador City W of Rancheria Creek), on private land. Operated by the Gold Mountain Mining Co., C/O Wm. D. Shea, Jr. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in gneiss. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
