A former Mn occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 12, T4S, R3E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) SSE of Tesla, along the E canyon wall of Corral Hollow, on private land (private lease). Discovered in 1942. Owned by Frank J. R. Rodriguez, California (1974). Operated by O.E. Chaney, California
(1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous chert. The ore body strikes N and dips 35E with a depth-to-bottom of 10.67 meters. A bed of Mn oxide occurs in a white chert. It ranges from 1 to 5 feet, with an average of 2.5 feet in thickness. Oxide ore grades downward into rhodochrosite-neotocite ore. Some places the ore is nearly pure, coarse-grained carbonate. The carbonate ore probably contains at least 35% Mn. At least 2 thin beds of high-grade rhodochrosite are exposed in the workings. These range from 6 inches to 1 foot in thickness. The ore is a banded mixture of rhodochrosite and neotocite in most places. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft 35 feet deep. 75 feet below the shaft collar a tunnel was said to be 215 feet long, and is said to be connected to the shaft by a complicated series of workings.

It was reported that 200 tons of ore was shipped from this mine during WWI.
