A former U-V occurrence/mine located in the N½ sec. 2, T17N, R23E, G&SRM, 18.3 km (11.4 miles) ESE of Sun Valley and 9.3 km (5.8 miles) SSW of Adamana (Apache County), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Merrill Young was original owner who sold to Bayshore Co. of Canada and called the mine the Little John. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.

Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle formation.

Workings include surface openings comprised of rim stripping and a 10 foot caved adit.

Mineralization is an U channel deposit hosted in gray, medium- to coarse-grained sandstone and bentonitic mudstone in the Petrified Forest Member of the Chinle Formation. Ore includes uraninite, coffinite, zeunerite, schroeckingerite, and torbernite with abundant petrified logs and carbonaceous trash.

Production was 11 tons of ore @0.10% U308; 0.16% V205 (1953-1954). Production was combined with the Ruth Mine.

Radioactivity is 1.5 mr/hour.
