A former U occurrence/mine located in the center-NE¼NE¼ sec. 16, T27N, R10E, G&SRM, SSE of Cameron and ESE of Gray Mountain (town). The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Shinarump Conglomerate Member, Chinle Formation.
Mineralization is an U deposit with uranium mineralization in carbonaceous siltstone in the upper part of a Shinarump Member channel. This channel appears to be different than they are in B2: sec. 16, which is the southward extension of the section 9 (upgrader) channel.
Workings include surface openings comprised of 150 foot of rim stripping, several shallow pits 60 x 20 x 10 feet deep and several small drilling
programs.
Production was 13.1 tons of ore @ 0.16% U3O8 (42 pounds of U3O8 total) (1956). This is total attributed to the Grub claims in the W½ sec. 16. The
W~ Sec. 16. The E½ sec. 16 produced some of the ore for section 9 (upgrader) production, possibly about 5-15 tons.
