A former V-U & Petrified Wood occurrence/mine located in the SE¼NW¼ sec. 16, T40N, R7E. G&SRM, 5.8 km (3.6 miles) N of Marble Canyon, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by Riley Baker, Arizona (1949).
Mineralization is an U-V-gemstone deposit hosted in the Chinle Formation. The ore is associated with petrified wood. Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation.
Workings include surface openings.
Production was 32 tons of ore @ 0.25% U3O8; 0.08% V2O5 (1949).
