Julia Semallie common pit


A former U occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 13 and SE¼ sec. 12, T26N, R10E, G&SRM, SSE of Cameron and SE of Gray Mountain (town).

Mineralization is an U deposit with uraninite hosted in sandstone lenses in the basal Petrified Forest Member of the Chinle Formation. Local rocks include rocks of the Shinarump Conglomerate Member, Chinle Formation.

Workings include surface openings comprised of a 22 foot deep pit that extends onto the Julia Semallie claims.

Production was 229 tons of ore @ 0.32% U3O8; 0.02% V2O5 (1957-1958).
