A former U-Mo-Cu occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 20, T38N, R5E, G&SRM, 25.8 km (16.0 miles) SW of Marble Canyon (town), on Emmett Hill, 0.7 miles S of US highway 89, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.
Mineralization is an U-Mo-Cu deposit hosted in Late Triassic sand & gravel (?) in the Shinarump Member of the Chinle formation and underlying Moenkopi at or near the contact. The ore body occurs in pods and is 6.1 meters thick, 15.24 meters wide and 91.44 meters long. Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation.
Metatorbernite occurs in a Shinarump Member conglomerate channel and in siltstones of the Moenkopi Formation. Channel scour is about 300 X 50 X 20 feet deep. Two parallel channels are present in the area. The largest one trends N25E through the center of Section 17.
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open pit with 12,000 feet of drilling.
Production was a few tons of low-grade ore.
Resources are of low-grade and very limited.
