the Homber Mining Claim was made by the Homber Mining Company around 1910. H.S. Gale, proprietor of the company, believed there to be graphite deposits at this location. Mined in 3 adits, one above the other, the operation uncovered deposits of carbonaceous schist, zinc and lead oxides (galena), and malachite. Analysis of the ore revealed that it contained 0.8 percent lead, 1.8 percent zinc, and 0.92 percent silver. The mines were never developed and the ore remains in-place.
