"Quarry" is sometimes seen on labels, but the occurrence was exposed during the construction of a housing project at the end of Spring Street off Richmond Road. Although many specimens were recovered in trenching for sewers, a knob of serpentine about 8 meters high x 15 meters x 10 meters remained on a house lot after the project was completed. The locality was not accessible much after September, 1969. The region shows typical serpentine barrens sort of soil characteristics where very little plant life can be supported due to the nutrient-poor character of soils covering serpentine rocks.
