Established in 1928 by the Dolomite Products Company, now the Dolomite Group (a subsidiary of Oldcastle Materials Inc., itself a subsidiary of CRH plc). It is a rock aggregate (road metal) quarry in the Silurian Lockport Dolostone. The quarry is located on Whalen Road, Penfield, east of Rochester.

Description: Crystalline masses, some grading into gypsum. Etched blocky to tabular crystals. SG tested for one crystal, came out to 2.9. SG for anhydrite is 3.0, SG for barite is 4.5.
