Located west of Mission Road. Also known as the SX mine - shaft No. 7.
Consists of an adit level and a headframe which accesses the 100, 150, and 200 levels.
Active for training of mining engineering students at the University of Arizona as well as industry participants. Drilling (jack-legging, blasting, mucking, laying rail, lighting, underground mine rescue operations training, to name a few.
In Spring of 2013 University of Arizona Society of Economic Geologists, student chapter members began underground and surface mapping of geology, structure, alteration, and mineral distribution on the University mine claims. This is in conjunction with plans to drive a new decline for rubber-tire equipment to access the lower levels of the mine.
