Quartz veins in sandstone, noteworthy for stibnite-included quartz crystals sparsely distributed in some veins. Some quartz crystals also exhibit uncommon s- and x-faces. Many veins are brecciated to varying extents. Stibiconite is present as a weathering-related replacement of stibnite within some quartz crystals, sometimes present along with fresh stibnite.
Deposit: Gray to brown shale and interbedded brown finegrained sandstone cut by a series of parallel quartz veins and veinlets. Stibnite occurs As blebs, small pods, and single crystals in quartz and in the shale and sandstone. Bottomley prospects are on the tops of two knolls at the north end of trinity range. The mine is developed by several shallow trenches along stibnite-bearing quartz veins.
