Deposit: Fissure replacement vein of quartz containing streaks of argentite and stephanite with minor gold. Claims include: ollie, elizabeth, veta grande, sasaki, lillian, florence. Mine reopened in 1972 As an open pit operation along the massive silica qtz vein. Stockpiling of silica sands and gold/silver concentrates. In 1978 , co. Merged with veta grande mgmt. Co. Development: Mill was scheduled to be added (1982) to increase capacity by 600 tpd. Listed As an active open pit Ag Au mine in 1983 with mill (gravity concentration, flotation). The operation employs a total of 14 persons. Earliest reference is from 1917, was active in the 1980's.
Geology: Thin interbeds of metasedimentary rocks. Ore occurs in a very large quartz vein up to 50 ft. Thick.
