Alteration: Silicification
Deposit: Jack Quade stated "My brunton wouldn't work- too much magnetite !"!!!!!!!!!!! ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Development: SHIPMENTS IN 1907,1919-20, 1944 AND 1953. ; ECON.COM: SHIPPED LESS THAN 1000 TONS IN 1953.
Geology: Vein has been left in place bounded by quartzite breccia. A sample was taken of the massive vein and portions of the breccia. The main vein is massive magnetite, but with considerable amount of silica along the boundary.
Ore(s): Fault Intersection
Trial shipments made in 1907; ore shipments made in 1919–20, 1944; Continental Nevada Iron Mining Co. had property in 1953 & shipped less than 1,000 tons of ore (part of this was rejected because of low iron-high silica content). Ore occurs at a bend in a SE-trending fault zone at its junction with a branch fault that trends east. Ore is in the form of a lenticular chimney 10' × 60', that rakes steeply north. Open pits and prospects.
