Alteration: Chloritization Of Quartz Monzonite Near Contact
Commodity: 2 types ore: talc-rich and chlorite-rich, talc-rich ore is white to light greenish gray, fine-grained, compact, soft with small amounts of chlorite and calcite. Chlorite-rich ore is greenish-gray, very fine-grained, brecciated, with small amounts of talc, calcite, and quartz
Deposit: Talcose bodies occur As irregular lenses along the fault zone, 15 to 150 ft in strike length. Chlorite-rich material from open pits and adit in lower roseamelia mine area
Development: Mine was operated by ernest and al lemke until 1941 when it was purchased by nevada minerals co. Who operated it from 1941 to 1947. It was acquired in 1948 by sierra talc and clay co., but was not operated by them.
