Structure: Vertical And Nw-Dipping Faults Offset The Ore Zone; Ene-Trending Fault

Alteration: Sericitization, Silicification

Deposit: Black metallic silver mineral occurs in cracks in quartz lenses conformable to bedding. Ore may be somewhat enriched close to greenstone dikes.

Deposit type: Low-sulfide Au-quartz vein

Development: One of the first claims to be staked in the district. An 1878 report stated that several hundred tons of $80. Ore had been developed on the pocotillo claim. Patented in 1879 when owned by the silver peak and red mountain gold and silver mining co.
