A Cu-Mo prospect with underground workings located on the S side of Providencia Canyon, ½ mile SE of the Golden Rose Mine and ½ mile NW of the Buena Vista Mine, at the mouth of Guajolote Canyon and 5 miles SE of the Nogales International Airport. Discovered 1899 by G. Gross and held by him until 1915. Consists of a series of mines including the Gross & Golden Rose camps in Paloma, Wild Hog, & Providencia Canyons. Exact location is uncertain; prospect location also given as 1¼ miles NE of Golden Rose Mine at the mouth of Guajolote Canyon. This prospect should not be confused with the Gross Mine, which is located 1¼ miles to the NW of the Golden Rose Mine.

Mineralization is irregular ore bodies. At and in the hill NE of the Bennett Mine, and in fact occupying the northwestern part of the triangular area bounded by Sycamore Canyon on the south and east and Providencia Canyon on the NW, just across Providencia Canyon from the Golden Rose Mine the local rock is reddish, medium- to coarse-grained quartz monzonite that is somewhat sheared, and is impregnated with evenly disseminated small crystals, masses, and grains of chalcopyrite and pyrite and also contains sparse molybdenite. These minerals seem to be primarily and of magmatic origin. They are very persistent throughout the mile or more of the northwest slope of the mountain opposite the Golden Rose Mine. Ore control is the somewhat sheared quartz monzonite impregnated with the mineral grains. Ore concentration was primary enrichment. Alteration is minor.

Local structures include quartz monzonite locally intruded by granite porphyry and underlain by diorite. E-W and NE-trending quartz veins and associated bands of crushed mineralizaed rock in fault fissures cutting diorite and quartz monzonite.

Workings include an 80 foot deep shaft.
