Deposit: Chalcopyrite replaced sandstone to a limited extent in vertical fissures this is one of the old claims off the south end of duval's copper canyon open pit mine, east ore body. In 1912 it was developed by a number of open pits and short tunnels on a series of short lens-like bodies of copper oxide ore. A small production during 1870's occurred, and in 1953, 136 tons ore were shipped containing 0.01 oz Au 0.79 oz Ag and 4.52% cu. ; info.src : 1 pub lit discovery year: about 1870's
