Stockbridge Valley "lime"-marble district metadolostone deposit - Stockbridge formation units a and b. (Note: While this site is usually referred to as being a "quarry," it isn't one. It is an open pit mine. "Quarrying" is the process of cutting stone out in blocks or slabs. When rock is simply blasted for removal in rough chunks and further processing, the process is called open pit mining, not quarrying.)
