Colour: gemmy transparent to clouded colorless/white. also yellow to golden
Fluorescence: none in clear crystals, significant Fluor/Phos responce in yellow to Golden crystals.
Description: Gemmy, water clear clacite crystals abound at the locality, but also an unusual so callled Strontian calcite occurs here. yellow to golden steep Rhombohedral crystals with an orange fluorecent response and are strongly Phosphorecent. Quantitative electron microscope analysis, conducted by J. A. Speer in 1975 yielded 0.1% SrO and 55.5% CaO, confirming the calcite is not true -Strontian- Calcite. (see ref. table Min of PA 1966-75; R.Smith pg.246-247)
