Commodity: Average ore grade was about 1.4 % wo3 but one shipment of sorted ore ran 20 % wo3
Deposit: Huebnerite occurs in 6 or more narrow quartz veins ranging from a few inches to 5 ft wide. Huebnerite is widely distributed As fine grains and crystals up to 3 inches long disseminated in the quartz and As veinlets and lenses up to 3 inches wide along fractures in the quartz. Most ore came from near-surface stopes on the hub vein. Also, good ore from the side issue vein. Richest ore was in 15-25 ft long shoots. Bottom of veins was never reached.
Deposit type: W veins
Development: In 1899 w. Gaby and w. Buntin located the first mining claims and made the first ore shipment. 10 tons of concentrate was recovered in 1900 and an adit was soon started. Development continued by j.h. Marriott (1900-1904), by the tungsten mining and milling co. (1904-1909), and by huebnerite tungsten co (1909-1910), and in 1910 u.s. Tungsten corp built a 50-ton gravity concentration mill in hub basin which operated in 1911, was reconditioned in 1915, and produced 1915-1916. Placer production occurred in 1941 and the dumps were reworked in 1950 1955.
Geology: Largest ore shoot was mined by a stope 70 ft long and up to 60 ft high.
