Sec 18 T25N R24E. Uranium
Structure: Central Part Of Eugeosynclinal Portion Of Basin And Range. A Major Fault Is One Mile East With Basalt Domes On A N-S Trend.
Alteration: Strong Argillization Of Granodiorite; Some Silicification In Places; Minor Bleaching
Tectonics: Mobile Belt
Commodity: Tungsten, copper, and uranium occur, but too low grade to be economic
Deposit: Yellow uranium mineral occurs As fracture coatings in a basalt dike cutting granite. Fracture zone in granodiorite. Evidence is that uranium was introduced with chalcopyrite along fractures containing pyrite. The uranium deposit is closely related to and of same age as tactite units. The uranium may have been in tactite, then leached and carried down dip along fractures in the granodiorite until reduced and deposited by pyrite. This record has been merged with m242703, which has been deleted.
