Deposit: The caselton mill is owned by the combine metals reduction co., and is leased to the bunker hill co.. Underground rail transportation costs are included in the mine operating costs. 1985 update. There has been no activity at the mine in the recent past. The mine has not produced since 1958. General location: about 1 km S of pioche general size of ore body: medium


Ore is replacement body of unoxidized sphalerite-pyrite-galena, 4-40 feet thick, averaging 6 ft. Thick. The replacement occurs only where the greenwood fissure, steeply dipping, intersects the limestone member. Shale is very arenaceous. Ore bed mined for over 10,000 feet along an east west channel 100 to 1800 ft. Wide. Ore body terminates against the frontal fault. Hanging wall unsuccessfully explored to depth of 2500 feet.
