A former underground Mo-Cu-Ag-Au mine and group of claims located in the NW¼ sec. 33, T.12N., R.2W. Held by location in 1943 by Marguerite Williams, Groom Creek. NOTE: Alternate coordinates provided: 34.4639N, 112.475W.
Mineralization is a quartz vein trending NNW that crops out for about 1,000 feet. In the outcrop the vein averages about 24 inches (60 cm) wide, but in the adit (30 feet down), it is only 8 inches (20 cm) wide. The vein is oxidized near the surface, and the quartz is stained with limonite and malachite. Sulfides are scattered through the quartz vein, and molybdenite seams coat several of the faults near the vein. Chalcopyrite is disseminated in the granitic country rock contiguous to the vein. An associated rock unit is the Crooks Canyon Granodiorite. Ore control was faulting and shearing. Ore concentration was oxidation and enrichment at near surface. Minor alteration.
Area structures include granodiorite and gabbro-diorite that is rather massive. Veins trend N-S to NNE.
Workings feature a 100 foot long adit.
