A Mn occurrence/group of claims located in the W½ sec. 12, T11N, R13W, G&SRM, 12 miles S of Signal and 4.7 km (2.9 miles) ESE of Plancha Mountain (coordinates of record). Owned by John Carr.

The deposit is contained in a shear zone in red sandstones. The ore body is 15.24 meters wide and 182.88 meters long. Controls for ore emplacement include the breccia cemented by Mn and Fe oxides. The sandstones are brecciated through a length of 600 feet in a northerly direction, along the strike, and a width of about 50 feet, forming a network of seams in which manganese and iron oxides have been deposited. These seams rarely are more than 2 inches wide, and they are sparse. Local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene volcanic and sedimentary rocks, undivided.

Local geologic structures include breccia that parallels bedding.
