A Mn deposit located in sec. 6, T4N, R5W, NM, 4.6 km (2.8 miles) E of Sonsela Buttes (coordinates of record), on the SE rim of Eastern Butte.
Mineralization is manganese oxides as botryoidal pods, disconnected knobby bunches, and irregular lenticular aggregates hosted in the Chuska Sandstone. The ore body is 1.52 meters thick, 4.57 meters wide and 914.4 meters long. Much of the outcrop is revealed only by float material. Local rocks include Oligocene to Paleocene[?] sedimentary rocks.
