A placer Au-Pt deposit area surrounding San Domingo Wash, about 45 miles NW of Phoenix, western foothills of the Wickenburg Mountains. Started in 1870 and worked until about 1880. Worked later (1905-1952) for gold, and last produced in 1962 (gold & gravel).
Mineralization is a stream placer. The concentration process was entrapment by irregularities in the stream bed or deposition in low-energy part of the stream for placer materials.
