Known as Cape Porcupine in the 1700s (pre-mineral collecting) and Cape Blow-me-down in the early 1800s. A section with mineralized basalt can be reached from Cape Blomidon Provincial Park, but it is a long walk and as always around the Bay of Fundy, tides are a concern. Starting at the park, the cliffs are sandstone capped by Triassic basalt. Moving west the basalt makes up a larger portion of the cliffs until eventually it reaches ground level.
