This large lead mine, located in Sec 24 T3N R6E, worked between 1836 and 1866. Ore was mostly in veins along vertical joints in the Ordovician carbonate rocks of the Decorah Formation. Few traces of these workings still exist. Google Earth shows the area as plowed farm fields in 2015.
