A Au-Ag mine located North of the Old Glory Mine, about 2 miles West of Ruby. Started in the 1890's and owned by the Margarita Gold Mines Co. (Nov, 1931- ).
NW of the mill the mineralized zone is about 200 feet long by 100 feet wide and 80 feet deep. This zone consists of silicified, sericitized country rock with locally abundant limonite and hematite. The richest material contains thickly disseminated pseudomorphs of limonite after pyrite. East of the mill, the mineralized zone is about 200 feet long by 30 feet wide and 50 feet deep, similar to the first zone described, but pyrite occurs in the lower portion.
Rocks in the vicinity are metamorphosed, siliceous, Cretaceous strata intruded by dikes of diorite and rhyolitic porphyry.
Workings include 1,200 feet of tunnels and shallow workings. Ore averaged 0.3 oz. Au/T & 0.5 oz. Ag/T. (richest ore). A 50 ton cyanide mill was erected on the property.
