Barth (1931) :"8. Birketveit. (Spellarhaugen)"
Bjørlykke locality nr 28.
Bjørlykke (1934) writes: "This feldspar quarry is situated south of the farm Hiltveit (sic!) on the hill Spellarhaugen." (See also Bjørlykkes map).
There is actually a hill by that name south of the Hiltveit farm. But the distance from Birketveit is way too much to call it a Birketveit quarry. Spelarhaugen is located ca. 2 km SW of the Birketveit farm.
At the new altitude map there are two clearly recognizable quarries, and in addition Corneliussen (www.pegmatite.no) has registered one that is more difficult to recognize as quarry.
Corneliussen places his area 3 Locality 14 quarry about 17,5 m W of the ones here registered as Birketveit 6.
It is doubtful that it is possible to find out which of these three quarries is the original Bjørlykke locality.
The coordinates are given for the seemingly largest quarry, the one in the east.
The coordinates for the one in the middle:
58.44577°N 7.89313°Ø
And the one in the west:
