A former surface and underground U mine located on 11 claims in sec. 19, T6N, R14E about ¾ mile SE of Aztec Lodge, N side of Workman Creek, on National Forest land. Owned by Maurice Sharp and others, Globe, AZ.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a linear ore body, hosted in weathered hornfels in the upper member of the Dripping Spring quartzite about 4 feet above a diabase sill. Uraninite occurs as small streaks parallel to relict bedding and as blebs in feldspar crystals in brecciated hornfels. Host rocks dip 6 to 9E, but 300 feet to the West, the dip is nearly 20E. Radioactivity 0.0 to 0.4 mr/hr.
Workings include adit 1 at 50 feet long, 3 short adits and 2 bulldozed benches.
