Locality along the Pecos River for highly inter-grown, stacked, cubic pyrite crystals encrusting elongated masses of fine-grained, massive pyrite dug from a clay layer. One hypothesis for their genesis is that the massive pyrite cores replaced fish excrement followed by coarse crystal overgrowth (see specimen photo captions).
