A gold mine located about 8 miles West of Quartzsite. Owned by G.W. McMillen (1934- ).
Mineralization is a vein that strikes ESE-ward and dips from 30º to almost 90ºN. and occupies a shear zone that is traceable for more than 2 miles across the range. It occurs in quartz-epidote schist. The width varies from less than 1 inch (3 cm) to 40 feet (12.3 meters) & averages 10 feet (3 meters). The filling consists of massive quartz with numerous cavities.
Workings include several inclined shafts and connected tunnels. One shaft is 120 feet deep and connects with 260 feet of workings. One adit tunnel is 240 feet long. Production prior to 1900 was about $40,000 (period values), plus another $9,000 to about 1914.
