Old abandoned apatite mine.
The apatite mineralization occurs at the contact between a gabbro body and the surrounding amphibolite. The known apatite-bearing zone is about 100 meters long, though only 40 meters were mined. The ore occurs in a coarse-grained gabbro, 0.5–1.5 m thick, with an estimated apatite content of 30–50%. The Kallarberg workings were active in 1918, producing about 100 tons of ore containing roughly 50 ct apatite.
