This L6 chondrite was discovered by Stine Hårklau in Jordalen in the autumn of 2016.
The meteorite was classified by Agata Krzesińska at the Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED), University of Oslo, as an L6 ordinary chondrite with a low iron content and a high degree of thermal metamorphism. This type is known as an ordinary chondrite because it is the most common type of meteoritic material to reach Earth, accounting for approximately 90% of all meteorite falls. Ordinary chondrites contain naturally occurring iron, which makes them attracted to a magnet (NHM Oslo)
