Historic tin mine. Two leases, located north and south of the Homeward Bound lease. A 1915 inspection noted four shafts and an open cut. Shaft No. 1, 32 feet down, the small lode was quartz-tourmaline-chlorite rock, dipping west 75 degrees. A porphyry dyke was to the south, then turned north on the west side of the shaft. Shaft 2 was to a depth of 60 feet, opaque blue quartz-tourmaline rock with cassiterite. Shaft 3, 40 feet deep, quartz-tourmaline rock in granite with little cassiterite. Shaft 4 was not mentioned. The open cut comprised blue quartz-tourmaline rock, with little cassiterite. The geologist noted rich cassiterite on the dumps.

Mentioned several times as Wallis' reward lease, it is assumed the Wallis brothers initially pegged the leases- William Alfred Wallis and Alfred Wallis in 1912. Late 1912, the Homeward Bound-Wallis Tin Mining Company was formed to mine all three leases (15 acres). Mining by this company was founded in 1913. However, it appears the Wallis brothers retained full or part ownership as they are mentioned as owners of the leases for several subsequent years. Ardlethan Options Limited had an option over the leases in 1914, then abandoned it.

The Wallis brothers then entered into a syndicate with J.A. Keogh, J.J. Keogh, F.H. Brown, W.A. Robinson and G.G. Lucas at various times as the Reward Tin Mining Syndicate. It was not a happy partnership resulting in much litigation. J.J. Keogh sued the Wallis brothers in 1916 for removal of timber from the lease, and requested compensation, which was dismissed by the mining warden.

In 1917, J.J. Keogh sought an injunction against the Wallis brothers from disposing ore and concentrates by tributers on the lease. The injunction was granted, the mining warden noting a fractious relationship between shareholders. The Wallis brothers sued J.A. Keogh, and F.H. Brown in 1920 for wages, and 'contributions'.

G.G. Lucas (who had purchased shares from J.J. Keogh and Brown), sued the Wallis brothers and Robinson in 1921, stating the mine was not being worked, and requesting a mine manager be appointed. The warden allowed this, and also awarded some expenses. The Wallis brothers made a counter claim against Lucas and Keogh for expenses. Dis-satisfied with the outcome, the case went to the full court. Everyone involved requested the court wind-up the partnership.

Exemptions were applied for from 1916 to the early 1920's, and mining did not resume after this.
