Blåfjell mine is abandoned titanic iron ore mine It was mined between 1863/4 -1876 by the english miningcompany "The Norwegian Titanic Ore Company"
The Blåfjell deposit is associated with a 3.5 km long norite pegmatite. In places this pegmatite dyke is mineralized and develop thick almost monomineralic layers or off-shots of ilmenite. The most prominent mineralizations are found at Blåfjell and include: Platform gruve, Under-, Over-, and Toppgruve, Blåfjelldalen, Aursland 1, Ligruve and Raset gruve.
