A small former surface and underground Au-Ag mine located on the summit of a ridge near the south boundary of sec. 32 (SE¼ sec. 35 per MRDS), T.6N., R.21W, about 2 miles (3.22 km) S of Moon Mountain, on Native American Reservation land.

Mineralization is a quartz vein with an average width of 2 feet (ca. 61 cm). The vein trends east-west, dips from 60ºN to vertical, and can be traced for 1,000 feet (ca. 305 m). It pinches to a mere seam on the west side of the ridge 400 feet (ca. 122 m) from the shaft and disappears beneath outwash deposits on the east side of the ridge.

The enclosing wall rocks are a sandy mica schist of sedimentary origin and granite gneiss and amphibolite schist of igneous origin, all of Precambrian age. The schists trend about north-south and dip 20ºE., and the fracture filled by quartz the quartz vein cuts squarely across the schistose structure.

The vein matter is a massive, vitreous, iron-stained quartz containing plentiful disseminated pyrite cubes from 1/8 inch to ¼ inch square, or crystal aggregates an inch or more in diameter. The oxidized portion of the vein contains cavities from which pyrite had been weathered, some containing visible gold.

Workings include a 12 feet (3.66 m) deep shaft and several open cuts and short tunnels.
