A former underground Au-Ag-Cu-Pb mine located in secs. 4 & 9, T.13N., R.8W., at an altitude of 3,300 feet. Started about 1906 (?). Produced 1901 [?] - 1948. Claims also in sec. 4.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a tabular ore body hosted in the Hillside Mica Schist (muscovite schist). This schist is a small area of banded gray schist that is surrounded by light colored granite and intruded by pegmatite, rhyolite porphyry, and basic dikes. The vein varies from less than 1 inch to about 18 inches (45 cm) wide. The vein strikes N.10ºE. and dips 25º to 30ºE. Its filling, where unoxidized, consists of coarse-textured, glassy, grayish-white quartz with bunches and disseminations of pyrite. Rich ore from the oxidized zone shows brecciated quartz with abundant cellular limonite. Considerable sericite has been formed in the wall rocks.

Area structures include minor foliation in schist that trends NE. Local igneous rocks are massive. Veins are often at low angles, dipping less than 40 degrees.

Workings include an inclined shaft to 350 feet deep. A 10-stamp mill was erected on the property.
