The Enger Us ophiolite occurs in the NEE Enger Us fault belt as huge mélange accumulations. The matrix of the ophiolitic mélange consists of siltstones, greywacke, sandstones, sandy tuffs, and tuffs. Most of the matrix rocks are highly deformed. The tectonic blocks in the mélange are mainly of the ophiolite suit, including ultramafic rocks, gabbros, basalts, and cherts. Massive and pillow lavas all exhibit N-MORB-like geochemical characteristics, and have zircon SHRIMP U–Pb age of 302 ± 14 Ma.
