A group of 5 unpatented tungsten claims/prospect with surface and underground workings located in sec. 13, T5N, R9E and in sec. 30, T5N, R10E, in the Pine Mountain area, 5½ miles NE of Four Peaks. Started/discovered in 1938.
Mineralization is hosted in coarse-grained, pinkish-gray granite that has been invaded by aplite and pegmatite. Associated more or less closely with the pegmatite are 4 quartz veins a few tens of feet apart, which strike N20 to 25E and dip almost vertically, and range in wide from a few inches to more than 2 feet (0.6 meters). An 8 inch wide vein of coarsely crystalline, grayish-white quartz was opened by the shaft. A drift cuts through about 7 feet of sericitized pegmatite that contains abundant vein quartz and local areas of disseminated tungsten minerals, etc.
Workings include a few shallow cuts and a 20 foot deep shaft with a 15 foot long drift. Prospected but no production.
