A former granite cliff known as the Trindade Quarry, located next to the Porto City Hall building, in the former parish of Santo Ildefonso.
Until 1960, there was a narrow street running alongside the Ordem da Trindade building, connecting Largo da Trindade to the lower part of Alferes Malheiro. This street was called Rua do Cimo da Trindade. Next to it stood a wall that provided access to a large complex of social housing. After the demolitions carried out in 1960, a much wider street was constructed to improve access to Porto’s city center. This new street was named Rua dos Heróis e dos Mártires de Angola. The removal of debris from the demolished buildings exposed a granite cliff. Despite several projects proposed for the site over the decades, the area — known as Pedreira da Trindade — remained unused until it was eventually redeveloped some years later.
