A former underground Au-Pb-Ag-Zn-Cu mine started about 1900. Located in the Minnehaha Flats area, headwaters area of Minnehaha Creek. Produced 1901-1942. Claims include all of sec. 31 and parts of secs. 32 & 29. NOTE: Alternate coordinates provided: 34.1717N, 112.4039W; and, 34.1725N, 112.3881W; and, 34.1658N, 112.4047W.
Mineralization is a Precambrian quartz vein deposit with a tabular ore body, with glassy quartz and sulfides. Ore control was faulting and shearing. Ore concentration was oxidation at near surface. Wall rock is amphibolite and not sericitized. Country rock is Bradshaw Granite with some amphibolite and diorite. An associated rock unit is the Brady Butte Granodiorite.
Area structures include veins that crosscut or parallel foliation in granodiorite, which trends N10E to N25E.
Workings include a 400 foot deep shaft; drifts extend 650 feet northward and 100 feet southward. A 5-stamp mill was installed.
