Mineralization is tyuyamunite, montroseite and carnotite in lenticular ore pods hosted in Late Triassic De Chelly sandstone of the Shinarump Conglomerate Member of the Chinle Formation in the Monument No. 2 paleo-channel. Mineralization occurs 7 feet into the De Chelly sandstone. Deposits occur in the bottom of a paleostream channel, usually with carbonaceous debris. A replacement deposit. local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation.
Tyuyamunite-type mineralization as fracture fillings and disseminations at the Shinarump-Moenkopi contact. Abundant carbonized and silicified plant materials in Shinarump sandstone and conglomerate.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of several small open pits and unspecified underground workings.
Production was 5,350 tons of ore @ 0.30% U3O8 (1952-1957). (page 106) 31,181 tons of ore @ 0.293% U3O8; 1.312% V2O5 (1952-1959). (page 222).
Analytical data results: V:U ratio is 5:1.
