An underground Au-Ag-Cu-Fe-U-Fluorspar prospect located in sec. 17, T4S, R20E, on the NW slopes of Mount Turnbull, 5.5 miles NE from Copper Reef Mountain, at an altitude of 4,650 feet. Located near the upper end of Bitter Spring Trap. Discovered in 1920 by Mr. F.C. Crockett.
Mineralization is an irregular ore body in a replacement deposit 45.72 meters long, 3.05 meters wide, hosted in limestone. Ore control was a contact between limestone and rhyolite. A quartz-pyrite-magnetite zone of mineralization 5 to 10 feet wide. Magnetite float is present for a distance of 100 to 150 feet along strike.
Country rocks are largely rhyolitic and andesitic volcanic rocks but at 2 places there are small outcrops of limestone of indeterminate age. Each is weakly mineralized.
Workings include 2 adits and a shallow shaft. CAVED AND FLOODED The shaft and adit were caved and flooded (1956).
