Structure: fissure, breccia zone

Commodity: Ore Materials: gold, electrum Gangue Materials: quartz

Deposit: Most of the district mineralization is covered by post-mineral volcanics; the auriferous volcanic-hosted quartz-adularia veins were mined where exposed. Free gold occurs in quartz and breccia; some silver is alloyed with gold. The district is underlain by mid-Miocene-age basalt and rhyolite which have been cut by northerly, northwesterly and northeasterly structures which form a complex zone of horst and graben blocks. An area approximately 5 miles long and 2.5 miles wide has been variably altered by shallow level hydrothermal solutions within which gold and silver mineralization is hosted in banded quartz veins as well as in sheared gouge zones. The historical mining exploited spotty but very high-grade orebodies primarily in two areas at the Coalition and Fairview mines. Quincy?s Seven Troughs program was designed to test the strike and dip extensions of the bonanza gold veins, and drill holes to explore the down-dropped block between the Coalition Mine and the Badger Mine.

Deposit type: Epithermal vein, Comstock

Development: Historic production in the district from 1907-1955 was 158,468 ounces of gold and 995,876 ounces of silver grading 35.6 g/t gold and 223.9 g/t silver. Most of the district is covered by post-mineral volcanics and the auriferous volcanic-hosted quartz-adularia veins were mined where exposed. Newmont owns the property, and Quincy Gold Corp optioned it from Newmont in 2004 and began a driling program in 2005 Victoria Resources also leased the property in 2006 and plans to drill. Victoria considers the district to have potential below this layer. Lease conditions stipulate work commitments of $2.6 million over seven years for Seven Troughs.

Geology: Veins are narrow, composed of friable quartz and shattered country rock.

Ore(s): principal veins follow basalt dikes in volcanics
